The Hilltown Harmony Chorus will perform on Saturday, May 18th starting at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Church, located at 17 Severance Street in Shelburne Falls. This popular multi-generational chorus, directed by Shelley Roberts, sings with the intention of bringing community together in a positive and peaceful manner. The next safety check will take place on Tuesday, May 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will perform the inspections by appointment. Parents and caregivers will be trained in the proper installation and setup of their own specific car seats in their own vehicles. Local piper Eric Goodchild will give a Bagpipe Recital to benefit the First Congregational Church of Shelburne's Music Fund on Sunday, May 19th starting at 6:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Shelburne, located on Common Road. The program will include traditional highland bagpipe music, a brief history, and commentary on the pieces performed. Admission is by donation, and refreshments will be served.
The First Congregational Church of Sunderland will hold a Roast Pork Supper on Saturday, May 18th starting at 5:30 p.m. at the chapel next to the church, which is located at the junctions of Rt. 47 and 116 in the center of Sunderland. Whately Historical Society will host a Spring Festival on Sunday, May 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Center School, located at 218 Chestnut Plain Road. Featured will be free ice cream from the Milk Bottle, items for sale including Whately-related products, plants, and food, an exhibit about Whately Post Offices both past and present, music by Ruth Fairman, Henry the Juggler, and a chair-caning demonstration by Priscilla Williams.
